Pre-Inspection
How to prepare for a domestic energy assessor.
Before the assessor comes round to your property, we will require you to fill out the pre-inspection questionnaire. This is because the assessment is non-intrusive. That means that the assessor will not be pulling up floorboards or forcing open doors or hatches.
A certain amount of information will need to be collected from the property owner to ensure that your property gets the correct energy rating.
What we need to know is if any energy saving measures have been carried out since you moved into your property or if you know of any measures that were carried out before you moved in. For instance have you had loft insulation or cavity wall insulation put in. The assessor will have to veryfy during the assessment evidence if it is visible.
A very important part of the assessment is the boiler system. We need to know the make & model of your boiler. If you have the original boiler manual then this is very useful, so that we can check the boiler information against the SEDBUK database. It would be a good idea to try to find the manual anyway to pass on to the buyers of the property.
For those who have vented boiler systems, access to the hot water cylinder is required for measurement purposes & to see if the system has a thermostat. Please keep airing cupboards free of items that will restrict a visual inpection of the cylinder. Please print or fill out the questionnaire form, from the link below & send it by email to enquiry@eastsussexdea.com or to our address on the contact page, or have the information ready when we book the appointment with you.
