Green Deal
What is the Green Deal?
The purpose of the Green Deal is to encourage as many people as possible to take measures to make their homes more energy efficient and it will achieve this by providing all of the upfront finance for such measures by way of a charge against their energy bills.
The Green Deal will make use of Energy Performance Certificates but the assessments will be carried out by Green Deal Advisors instead of Domestic Energy Assessors who will be fully accredited. The Recommendations that are eligible for funding under the Green Deal (yet to be decided) will be carried out by accredited Green Deal Installers. The cost of the work will be funded by Green Deal Providers.
